Pedestrian injury protection by car design.

Abstract

Remaining concerned with the problem of pedestrians hit by cars, the European Experimental Vehicle Committee (EEVC) has set up an ad hoc group on pedestrian accidents, with the following tasks: formulation of appropriate recommendations with regard to car design, survey and coordination of European Research Projects and activities, and cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).The report presents the conclusions of this group.
