Abstract

The growth of nighttime accidents in Israel is illustrated by statistical data. The most typical nighttime accidents in Israel are those involving pedestrians. Data on these accidents served as a basis for identifying areas where nighttime accidents are frequent by employing an identification technique specifically developed for this purpose. The identification is based on three principal indices which are described.
