Abstract

Pedestrian data from a study of the mobility behaviours and attitudes of 709 retired people are presented. Walking is not at present a satisfactory means of transportation for retired people, but have some advantages if distances between homes and desired destinations were within 15 minutes of walking time and if walkingways are clear and safe.
