Abstract

A reduction in the number of pedestrian accidents has been achieved through the use of traffic control devices and other traffic control measures. In many cases a reduction in pedestrian accidents has followed when traffic signal visibility had been improved. Research is needed for a.o. pedestrian visibility, sidewalks and pedestrian crossings.
