Abstract

An account is given of the techniques to improve shopping amenity, whilst still preserving satisfactory levels of goods vehicle servicing, bus route access, car parking, and capacity for through travel. In many situations an improvement of the shopping environment can be obtained by the use of some type of access limitations without requiring complete prohibition of vehicular traffic.
