Abstract

This summary is a shortened version of B 17329. This booklet examines the nature and dimension of the problem of pedestrian safety in Ireland insofar as this can be done from accident data clone; reviews as much as is feasible of the international literature on the subject and discusses possible measures to improve pedestrian safety, which may be applicable to the Irish situation. The extent to which these measures have been evaluated is also examined.
