Abstract

Examples from town planning in London, Montreal, Toronto, Cincinnati and Minneapolis indicate what can be done with a dedication to improvement and enhancement of the rights of the pedestrian to urban space, with the concomitant benefits of improvement of the human qualities of the urban environment.
