Abstract

Jerking movements caused by road surface or rail irregularities are normally followed by complex mechanical vibrations. Methods of measurement of these vibrations, and methods of the statistical determination of the results are outlined. Attempts were made to apply comfort criteria. A survey of some existing comfort criteria shows the usefulness of an ISO-proposal.
