Abstract
Through its multi-disciplinary approach the Netherlands team assigned to draft a specification for traffic lights has ensured that, in terms of intensity, colour and shape, these signals also have a large measure of recognizability to people with diminished sharpness of vision or affected with deuteranopia and /or protanopia.
