Abstract

Problems in the study of hearing are considered here from both a cybernetics viewpoint and from a detailed examination of the experimental literature. The book gives emphasis on hearing rather than vision. Results are discussed in the theoretical framework of information theory and related to experimental data from animals. Considerable space is given to a re- examination of the problems usually handled by Neo- Pavlovian theory.
