Abstract

One of the most urgent problems faces in the nowadays traffic safety work relates to the deficient functioning of the traffic-sign system. A critical review is given clarifying to which degree the reasons for deficiency is understood. Lack of motivation of the driver rather than his deficient perceptual capabilities, is responsible.
