Abstract

This study deals with the potential collision detection cues in a night-time approach situation. Two such cues are identified, but it is argued that only one of them- the change in bearing angle of the opposing vehicle- can really function in driver perception. Threshold measurements for this cue are reported and their implications are discussed.
