Abstract

The specification for rolled-asphalt wearing courses virtually excludes the sole use of crushed rock for the fine aggregate but in some areas this fine aggregate is the only material that is economically available. A review of the performance of this type of asphalt including that of some examples at other sites has been used to draw up a provisional specification.
