Abstract

Emergency avoidance tests were carried out on a test track where the driver had to avoid collision with an obstacle suddenly jumping into his path. The results indicate that when vehicle yaw response is greatly delayed, inexperienced drivers may lose control, while experienced drivers will secure control of the vehicle.
