Abstract
This report discusses the results of a study comparing the performance of selected event data recorders (EDRs) in recording the crash environment for severe traffic accidents. The EDRs were attached to the bed of a 2001 Ford F-150 pickup truck, which was crashed into a fixed flat rigid barrier at 48 kph (30 mph). The report compares the output of the crash pulse from the EDRs to the output from reference accelerometers. (Author/publisher)
