Section 2: Present knowledge on the skidding resistance of roads and its variation with the effects of time and traffic. Section 3: Steps to ensure the production of non-skid surfaces and the rectification of slippery surfaces. Section 4: Recent work on methods for measuring the slipperiness of roads. Section 5: Progress in knowledge on the problem of slipperiness since 1959. Section 6: Recent examples of collaboration between the Committee on Slipperiness, or its members and other bodies. Conclusions and recommendations.
