Abstract

Mobilicity PPT (Personalised Public Transport) is a demand-responsive, driverless vehicle launched in collaboration between Innovation RCA (part of the Royal College of Art in London) and Copoco Design in the UK as a new concept for personalised public transport. With the right backer, the designers say that the vehicle could be ready for the London Olympics in 2012. The Mobilicity PPT vision is for a public transport system for cities that is personalised to the needs of the passenger. It is safe, secure, comfortable and emission-free. Most of the technology for the vehicle already exists, including lane departure warning systems, intelligent cruise control, low-energy climate control systems and satellite navigation telemetry.
