Abstract

The diurnal distribution of reported rond accidents inthe U.K. shows tWO major and one minor peak. The majorpeaks occur at the morninb and the evenrob rush hoor, theminor peak at late evenins and is probably associa ted withalcohol usageo These peaks are stils present in the datawhen it is normalised for a Biven .ajor road to unit traf-fic flow. Nevertheless all conflict studies have beencarried out in daylght. A study is made in the differen-ces, if any, in driver beh,..viour in daylinht and indarkness. Results of the study are presented.
