Abstract
Systematic analyses of road accidents can help identify the appropriate preventive measures. It is also essential to include road safety aspects inthe traffic and transportation planning process. This article details thesoftware solutions used by German police forces for accident data recording and analysis. Graphic analysis tools, accident prevention concepts, safety analyses, and calculation and visualisation are discussed.
