Abstract

The external changes in the behaviour of the traffic flow, when local and direct information is given to the driver are determined. Aimed is at receding the speed during the period that relatively much slow moving traffic is present on an intersection with the use of a fixed information and /or a signalising system. Results show that both systems cause a significant decline in speed and that a positive effect is found on the possibility to cross the road for the slow moving traffic.
