Abstract

The verification experiments of Advanced Cruise-Assist Highway Systems (AHS) are planned in the autumn of 2000. The experiments are designed to verify the technical feasibility and public/social compatibility of AHS to be realized in the near future. The experiments planned in 2000 are characterized by the fact that cruise assistance is realized by coordination between highways and vehicles. This paper introduces the outline of plans for the verification experiment of AHS, including the significance, purpose, contents, cooperators and schedule. (A*)
