Abstract

TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 2244 consists of 14 papers that examine state climate action plan strategies, fair share regional targets for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from transportation and land use, commuting times based on the jobs-housing balances, context-sensitive multimodal road planning, and integrating travel demand model and benefit-cost analysis. This issue of the TRR also explore surface transportation vulnerabilities and risk assessment opportunities under climate change, enhancing the incorporation of safety into the regional planning process, China’s megaregional mobility, administrative structure and hosting of metropolitan planning organizations, operating a metropolitan planning organization, models for estimating arterial corridor travel time, transportation system partnership endeavors in public lands, effects of shuttle service on transportation system performance and quality of visitor experience, and managing recreational river boats on public lands.
