Abstract

The seminar addressed question relating to the role of research in aiding in the solution of public transportation problems, the identification of high priority research areas, and the question of who should perform the research. Consideration must be given to a balance between technological research and institutional factors. The dissemination of the results of research that already exists, together with a better interchange of information is an important part of research activity.
