Abstract

An algorithm for estimating road accident costs in Poland is presented. The estimated costs of the components of the algorithm are updated annually. Basic road accident casualty data are presented for Poland by gender and age, in relation to the increasing use of motor vehicles, and for rural and urban areas. The total costs of these accidents are also tabulated.
