Abstract

An attempt is made to place in proper perspective the value of current traffic accident reports form which statistical data is gathered, and from which statements are sometimes published giving the causes of accidents. Even a most cursory examination of the method in which the vast majority of accident reports are compiled, indicates the subsequent data should be treated with the greatest caution and certainly should not provide the sole guidelines for remedial measures.
