Abstract

A summary is given of a paper dealing with the attitude of policemen towards the general public. It is stated that policemen have their failings like other human beings, but a society which does not have particularly high moral standards demands of them unfailing fairness, honesty and fearlessness. When the expected high standards are not maintained the community is disturbed and distressed.
