Abstract

Recent developments in police traffic radar are described and activities in performance standards and training programs discussed. Results of special tests are reported. Also examined were such phenomena as patrol speed shadowing, target speed bumping or batching, and possible errors due to panning, scanning interpretation, and automatic lock-on feature. The results indicate that police radar is reliable when carefully installed and properly operated.
