Abstract

Since 1989, ESSO and VIAFRANCE companies have been conducting a joint research program on polymer modified bitumens. Conventional tests have been applied to these products, as well as more specific tests allowing a more detailed study of the behaviour of these heterogeneous binders of some of their complementary properties. The research program was constructed with a complete matrix of perfectly well controlled PMBs (chemical nature and content of bitumen and polymer, mixing conditions) (1). This paper presents conclusions about these tests and some representative examples. (A)
