Abstract

The now-existing safety belts have essentially been conceived for restraining a passenger, so as to prevent his coming in contact with the instrument panel. To be entirely efficient, however, it is indispensable that the restraining device should absorb and dissipate the energy stored by the passenger. Means and devices to this effect are many and various. These devices will certainly, in future, improve the efficiency of safety belt and help to spread the use of this means of protection.
