Abstract

After a reminder of the new context in which the road engineers work, characterized by preoccupations relating to the protection of environment, saving of energy and credicts, examples of high performance design methods are reviewed. All these design methods generate important quantities of data available to the road field and others. Many countries consider the implementation of road data bank, as a conclusion, it can be outlined that the technical progress sets the problem of service organization in new terms.
