Abstract

The increased involvement of heavy duty trucks in fatal motor vehicle crashes has given rise to several inquiries as to increased qualifications for drivers. Legal precedents are reviewed, addressing the questions of maximum ages for truck drivers, increased physical requirements, and the authority for specific physicians to conduct truck driver physical examinations.
