Abstract

Studies clearly show a significant number of present bicycle commuters and a still larger percentage of potential bicycle commuters if properly designed bikeways and parking facilities are made available. The bicycle is a legitimate and practical addition to a balance transportation system with no negative consequences. Bicycle riding is not only beneficial to our environment but also to the commuter himself.
