Abstract

The project consisted of a review of the relevant literature, the formation and convening of a special advisory committee, the collection of accident reports and analysis of twin trailer crashes, the collection of information from motor carrier officials who may be using or planning to use the larger rigs, and interviews with drivers who use the larger rigs. Each of these activities is described in more detail.
