Abstract
Two basic alternatives for developing veloroutes within metropolitan areas will be explored: (1) reusing or sharing of existing roadways and (2) uniting underutilized land corridors and rights-of-way. Construction of intra-urban veloroutes can channelize traffic into a fairly rapid, safe, convenient, attractive and healthful environment which would permit urbanities to continue their community's everyday life. This paper is presented in an abridged version.
