Abstract

Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), implemented all over the world, has become a practical traffic management technique that can improve the safety and operational efficiency for the movement of people and goods through innovative ITS users' services and market packages. This paper describes the ITS standards/system architecture available, emerging advanced system designs, and long-term impacts on ITS deployment in Asia. It is important to recognize that these available ITS system architecture and ITS standards, as described, provides a starting point or a generalized infrastructure framework that can facilitate practical ITS system integration.
