Abstract

This paper examines the practical implementation of objectives derived from research in respect of three colour road traffic light signals, with particular reference to New South Wales practice. The effects of varying a number of interdependent parameters are discussed, and it is shown that the component which most critically determines signal performance is the incandescent lamp.
