Abstract

A formula connecting the speed distribution measured in time with the speed distribution measured in space is derived and applied to the cases of Pearson type III distributions. and lognormal distributions. In the the first case. convesion tables from time to space measurements are provided both for the mean and vari- ance and for the percentage of cars going more slowly than some fixed speed.
