Abstract

The objective of this paper is to provide supportive care to a trauma patient from the time of injury till definite treatment can be provided for the patient with a view to reduce mortality and morbidity. A lot of controversy exists regarding what should be the ideal pre-hospital management for the injured patient. No system is ideal for all areas. Police formulations for pre-hospital management of the injured will obviously be determined by the availability of trained personnel and technological and economic resources at hand. But what is the optimum and who should give it ? (A)
