Abstract

A new measuring method for vehicle speed that can be considered an improvement on the well-known induction loop method is described. In the method the time lag between the responses of the two loops-here called signatures- is measured by first approximating the leading slopes of both signatures by straight lines and then measuring the time distance of these straight lines.
