This paper has been prepared for the Federal Office of Road Safety to provide information for the National Road Safety Summit. It attempts to estimate the likely reductions in road fatalities by the year 2010, which could be expected from implementing a range of road safety measures directed at road users, vehicles and the road system. This report has been developed by updating and refining the elements of the paper `Prediction road fatalities for 2010 and beyond' which was presented by the first author at the November 1997 Research and Enforcement Conference.
