Prediction of multidirectional thoracic impact injuries.

Abstract

Thoracic injuries may be divided into two types (a) injuries to the endothoracic organs and (b) injuries to the thoracic cage. The Highway Safety Research Institute has developed a method for assessing thoracic injury using accelorometer data, which method is described and the results of it are presented.
