Abstract

Pedestrian trip prediction is important in the planning of central city areas and major pedestrian generators. Only in the last years serious attention has been given to this matter. There have been a number of efforts to predict pedestrian movements by modelling procedures and these have mainly used techniques developed for use in other aspects of urban transport planning. A state of the art review is given and some data on pedestrian prediction are reviewed.
