Abstract

The wide variation of characteristics of recreational roads such as those of the Lake District requires a method for the prediction of the speed of vehicles different from the established method for other rural roads. In this report a formula is derived which estimates the speeds of vehicles according to the width, hilliness and bendiness of the road. (Author/publisher)
