Abstract

Trip generation and attraction equations, estimated from home interviews, land use and accessibility data, generally contain two forms of error which make them unreliable predictors of travel demand. Multi-collinearity to "independent" variables and parametric dependence on contemporary urban structure makes the equations particularly vulnerable to urban structural shifts.
