Abstract

Knowledge on the pedestrian accident risk to young pedestrians at school crossings and other pedestrian crossing device is reviewed. Behaviour changes associated with reduced risk at school crossings are identified. A subsidy scheme to provide supervisors for school crossings in Victoria is described, as well as details of the operation of the supervisors.
