Abstract
A series of legal competences in the field of the Dutch road traffic and road transport legislation which have in common that they can be only prosecuted after the ascertainment of a penal offence, are compared. Examples of such legal competences are: the confiscation of the driving licence, the prohibition to drive, the confiscation of the registration plate, the towing away of illegaly parked vehicles, and the seizure of the vehicle.
