Abstract

Some insurance companies are said to be sceptical that anything can be done to reduce the accident risks for new, young drivers. This is not the case for research reported in Canada where automobile insurers have played an important part in young driver accident prevention. The research, funded by the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC), has highlighted risks not only applying to young drivers but also for older new drivers as a high-risk group.
