Abstract

Porsche, as partner in the ATT DRIVE II ROSES (ROad Safety Enhancement Systems) project, is developing a driver interface to present information and warnings to the driver based on a preview of the road and weather conditions ahead of the vehicle. The preview concept and the data which needs to be transmitted to the vehicle from an equipped infrastructure is described, along with the road and weather condition data that the intelligent ROSES vehicle can provide to the infrastructure. The in-vehicle MMI hardware for the pilot tests planned for 1994 is described. Results from the warning strategies based on a typical scenario are given. (A)
