Abstract

This paper describes a modification of the BPR-CAL computer simulation of automobile dynamics aimed at producing a closed-loop control mechanism suitable for use in the investigation of driver behaviour. Of particular interest was behaviour in emergency and precollision situations involving maneuvers at or near the limits of vehicle and driver control.
