Abstract

A probability approach to brightness matching is presented, linking it to the threshold Blondel-Rey curve. No recommendations are being presented for changing the means now in use for calculating the effective intensity of flashing lights. The hypothesis presented should be tested and the real world time dependence on flash length determined.
